"I consider this program absolutely the finest management tool I have seen in over 25 years of school service. Never have I seen more value with the collection of data provided. The data shows areas we need to improve and areas that must be maintained. Count on us to be part of this highly valued system next year. Great work!" Greg Carver "Thank you very much for taking the time to visit with us and review the findings of the Benchmark4Excellence Study. The study has allowed us to look at the results and made us aware that we have opportunities for improvement. We have found the information very useful and are looking at ways to accomplish the same results, at a possible lower cost, without negatively impacting the service." Guillermo Nieri "In the past year I have used the Benchmark Study to justify "How we are doing" to our Superintendent and School Board. I give this study the credit for the M&O Dept. not losing any additional employees during our budget reduction process last year. This study is an "apples to apples" study done by an independent/third party (TASBO) with nothing to lose or gain by the results. This gives the study merit to those outside the M&O Dept. I will use the current (06-07) study to attempt to push policy changes in how we purchase electricity. Based on study results, we are seeking additional ways to reduce our KWH usage on electricity. In January of 2008, an external auditor came to the M&O Dept. seeking areas where we could reduce or cut expenses. I used the Benchmark Study results with the auditor to "Tell our story." The auditor was impressed. This study gives a manager target areas to improve upon without any guessing. In a growing school district that adds additional schools each year, the Benchmark Study gives a manager direction when it comes to opening new schools without hiring any new employees or fewer employees. The study acts as my "Checks and Balances," when critical decisions need to be made and defended." "Supporting Learning through Service" Regarding User Group Meetings:"Thanks for the terrific meeting last week! That was one of the most productive training days I've had in a very long time." Grady Slaydon "Thank you, also, for an extremely helpful meeting. Those of us with no background in maintenance and facilities learn so much from interacting with such knowledgeable colleagues."
